Surat Cinta Tertua "The Oldest Love Letter"

Surat cinta tertua yang dapat ditemukan sampai saat ini adalah surat cinta Inanna, seorang pendeta tinggi bangsa Sumeria kepada sang Raja, suaminya. Dalam tradisi bangsa Sumeria, seorang istri membuat puisi cinta untuk suaminya pada malam pernikahan.

Surat cinta ini merupakan salah satu dari ribuan artefak yang didapat dari penggalian arkeologi di Lembah Niffer, 150 kilometer dari Kota Baghdad pada tahun 1890-an yang dikomandoi oleh Noah Kramer seorang Profesor dari Philadelphia University. Versi Inggris-nya didapat 58 tahun kemudian setelah diterjemahkan oleh Sumerolog, ahli bahasa Sumeria, yang namanya: Muazzez Longsor dan Hatice Kızılaybu  .

Setelah dicermati lebih jauh, surat cinta in diperkirakan dibuat pada 2200 tahun sebelum masehi. [ 2200 + 2011 = 4200 tahun yang lalu...]. Sekarang 'prasasti cinta' tersebut menjadi koleksi Istanbul Archaelogical Museums di Turki.
